DigitalOcean coupon code

No. DigitalOcean publishes no shareable coupon code on the official pages we read on Sep 30, 2026. The credit it gives new users is automatic instead: DigitalOcean’s own documentation says that when you create your first team a $5 signup credit is applied automatically and no promo code is required, and that the credit expires 90 days after signup. Everything else you can actually get is either an always-on free allowance, a program you apply for, or a $25 credit earned by whoever referred you - each listed below with the official page it is written on and the date we read it.

Questions

Is there a DigitalOcean coupon code I can copy?

No. The official pages we read on September 30, 2026 publish no shareable coupon code. DigitalOcean's own affiliate page says the company "provides free credits to new users to incentivize signups," and its documentation says the new-user credit is applied automatically. What we could not find is a code the company prints for anyone to type in, so we do not publish one. If you are shown a code somewhere else, check the expiry date that came with it, because the official terms say a code cannot be redeemed after that date.

How does the $5 signup credit work, and do I need a code?

DigitalOcean's Signup Credit documentation states: "When you create your first team, DigitalOcean automatically applies a $5 signup credit. No promo code is required." The credit shows as a Signup Credit balance in the Control Panel's top navigation bar and updates as you pay for resources. The documentation also states that you must add a valid payment method before you can create Droplets or other resources.

How long does the signup credit last, and what does it not cover?

The documentation states that signup credits expire 90 days after signup, that the credit applies to all products except SaaS Add-Ons, and that you cannot transfer signup credits to other teams. The promotional credit terms add that promotional credits have no cash value and are nonrefundable, and that no refunds are granted for any expired or canceled promotional credit.

Does the referral program give the new user a discount?

Not as a code. The official referral program page states: "When you refer someone to DigitalOcean using your unique referral link, you'll get $25 after they spend their first $25." That $25 is a credit earned by the referring account after the new account reaches $25 in billings. The page does not state a separate credit for the person who signs up.

What does the DigitalOcean Startups program give, and who is eligible?

The official Startups page states that selected startups get 12 months of DigitalOcean credits, with the credit amount described only as "amount varies", plus free access to Standard-tier paid support for 15 months. The stated eligibility conditions are: must have raised $10m or less; must have a company website and an email address associated with it; and must create a registered DigitalOcean team account with that business email rather than a personal one. The page also states that AI-native startups are prioritised and that service-based startups are not eligible.

Are there limits on how startup credits can be used?

Yes, and the official page states them. Credits are generally subject to a $10,000 monthly limit, with charges applying to any use above that in a month. As of the May 13, 2026 list on that page, credits may not be used for GPU Droplets, NVIDIA H100 GPU Kubernetes, Bare Metal GPUs, Dedicated Inference, third-party AI models hosted outside DigitalOcean infrastructure, Paperspace Machines, Cloudways services, or charges passed through to third-party providers. Credits are not transferable, unused credits are forfeited, and the program does not grant extensions.

Does DigitalOcean have a free tier?

It has no-cost allowances rather than a single free plan. The official pricing page lists, under platform benefits: build and deploy 3 static sites for free; a free container registry with 1 repository and 500 MiB storage; free DNS management; free cloud firewalls; one Uptime Check per month included with every account; 90,000 GiB-seconds per month free with DigitalOcean Functions; and free Reserved IPs when assigned to a Droplet. It also lists entry prices starting at $0/month for App Platform, Functions, Container Registry, Support Plans, Virtual Private Cloud, Uptime and Cloud Security Posture Management.

What are the entry prices, and how much bandwidth is included?

The official pricing page lists Droplets starting at $4/month, Kubernetes at $12/month, Spaces at $5/month, Managed Databases at $15/month, Volumes at $10/month and Load Balancers at $12/month. On bandwidth it states that Droplets include free outbound data transfer starting at 500 GiB per month, that public internet egress overage is $0.01 per GiB, and that private VPC egress between data centers is also $0.01 per GiB while intra-datacenter VPC peering and ingress are free.

Does DigitalOcean give refunds?

The official pricing page answers this directly: "We do not offer refunds. If there are extenuating circumstances, contact support." The promotional credit terms say the same for promotional credit: no refunds are granted for any expired or canceled promotional credit.

Can I combine a DigitalOcean promo code with another offer?

Generally no. The Promotional Credit & Discount Terms state that, unless authorised by DigitalOcean, promotional credits and discounts may not be used in conjunction with any other promotional or incentive offer, that each code can be redeemed only once and only on one account, and that the credit or discount cannot be sold, licensed, rented or transferred. They also state that promotional credits and discounts will not be applied to Marketplace fees, DigitalOcean Support, cryptocurrency mining, or any upfront fee or prepayment.

Is this page affiliated with DigitalOcean, and was any of this tested on a live account?

No to both. We read the linked official pages and documentation on the date shown. No account was created, no credit was redeemed, no payment method was added and nothing was tested in checkout, so treat every statement as what DigitalOcean publishes rather than what we confirmed as a customer.

Official pages and documentation checked on the dates shown. Nothing here has been tested on a live account: no team was created, no credit was redeemed, no payment method was added and no code was entered, so treat every statement as what DigitalOcean publishes rather than what we confirmed as a customer. Eligibility, regional limits and product exclusions still apply, and every statement above can change without notice. For the other brands covered the same way, start from the brand directory.
